The Assessor's Office
The Assessor's Office is the government agency responsible for establishing the value of property for tax purposes. It is our responsibility and goal to ensure that all values are fair and equitable and assessed according to Connecticut State Statues so every property owner shares their appropriate share of the total property tax burden. This objective is accomplished by the discovering, listing and valuing of all existing and new construction. In addition, we are also responsible for maintaining and granting tax saving exemptions for those who qualify.
